From breaking entrenched discrimination to representing victims of violence, trial lawyers have long protected legal rights that society most values.
This is our benchmark.
In our school violence, women’s rights, personal injury and trial practice, we have served as lead counsel for local and high-profile wrongful death and serious personal injury matters across the country. We have collected tens of millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements in federal and state court cases against individuals, corporations, fraternities, and educational institutions responsible for harming our clients.
We represent victims of sexual violence throughout the entire university, college or high school disciplinary process and judicial hearings, and civil litigation ensuring that their Title IX, state law and due process rights are protected and that perpetrators are held responsible to the fullest extent of the law.
In our commercial and transactional practices, we represent individuals, for-profit, and non-profit organizations nationwide. One of our clients is recognized as the most progressive, aggressive and successful organization leading the fight against housing discrimination and predatory lending. For more than 25 years, it has made the American dream of homeownership possible for thousands and thousands of working people. One is an industry trade organization promoting businesses that, among many other things, manufacture medical devices to improve the quality of life for millions of persons. One is a global leader in commercial real estate. One advocates for victims of sex trafficking. We advise these and others on a wide-spectrum of operational, management, litigation, strategic and governance legal issues. And, when conflict cannot be circumvented with sound legal advice, we have successfully brought, defended and resolved, in State and Federal Courts and arbitration, numerous types of commercial claims, including breach of contract, employment or other business agreements, property disputes, landlord/tenant, and commercial torts. We have successfully guarded the interests of our non-profit and business clients before the government (State(s) and federal), against other organizations, and against the largest commercial lending institutions in the world, from small matters to those involving millions of dollars.
Un abogado en nuestro bufete, Jonathon Fazzola, está disponible para hacer consultas en español para los clientes de habla hispana. We have successfully represented a number of people who struggle to speak and/or understand English. We also have ready access to translators fluent in Arabic, Chinese and Russian.

IN THE MEDIA
Our lawyers and work have been regularly profiled on national television, including CNN, MSNBC, Fox, Good Morning America, The Today Show, Dateline, and 20/20, as well as in print and on the web, including The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine, Time Magazine, NPR, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, Sports Illustrated, and others. In a November 2, 2015 article focused on violence at universities, CNN quoted Mr. Fierberg stating: “The failure by universities to tell the truth about the risks facing students in fraternities specifically related to hazing, misuse and abuse of alcohol, and other misconduct is the new battleground. . . . parents and students are entitled to timely and accurate information about the risks they face. And universities have no basis, morally or legally, to withhold that information from the university community.”
Virginia Tech Press Conference
Our lawyers negotiated the historic settlement that resulted in millions of dollars to the victims and established a foundation in their honor. Our work was the only successful legal resolution of this tragedy that resulted in economic recoveries, health insurance, counseling and health care treatment, and the establishment of an advocacy organization to carry-on the work and family legacies.
Nationwide Legal Representation
Our lawyers have collected tens of millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for victims of hazing, sexual assault and other misconduct. We have successfully represented victims of sexual violence in high school/college/university disciplinary hearings across the country, compelling institutions to abide by the law, enforce codes of conduct, expel rapists, and protect and accommodate victims.
We represent victims in lawsuits involving fraternity death, fraternity rape, hazing injury, hazing death, wrongful death, serious personal injury, sexual assault, and Title IX. We help victims of school violence achieve justice in school disciplinary hearings, since these proceedings are pivotal in protecting students and their Title IX and educational rights. For example, in 2014 we obtained approximately $5 Million in federal court judgments and settlements for young girls victimized, improperly videotaped and photographed by their elementary school teacher, enabling them to obtain the quality mental health care they deserve, pay for college, and, for some, purchase homes for themselves and families. We also recognize that many clients – for many personal reasons – lack the financial skills and experience to protect the substantial funds they receive through our work. Hence, we have deliberately developed contacts with some of the finest investment advisors available, who have, without charge or notoriety, shared their advice with our clients to help them secure the future they deserve.
We have served as lead counsel for state and federal lawsuits, administrative complaints, mediations, and disciplinary proceedings in numerous states, including Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
