The firm that built the field.
For nearly three decades, The Fierberg National Law Group has led the fight against the universities, fraternities, and institutions that harm students—holding them accountable in courtrooms across the country. We didn't just try these cases, we created this area of law. We stand shoulder to shoulder with the families we represent, turning their cases into precedent that helps ensure it doesn't happen again.
A history of advocacy.
Most firms count their results in settlements. We do too, hundreds of millions of them, but our real measure is the institutions we've forced to change and the protections our cases left behind for the next student.
Cases that became law.
When our clients could not get justice under the law as written, they changed the very laws themselves. Five states now carry statutes that grew directly out of cases we brought, each named for the young person it honors.
Nearly three decades, case by case.
A path through the landmark cases that define our work, from the matter that launched the practice to the ones we're trying right now. Each one moved the law, the culture, or a single family closer to justice.
When these cases make news, reporters call us.

Fraternity Hazing, on the Nation's Biggest Stage
After freshman Sam Martinez died pledging Alpha Tau Omega, his family turned to Doug Fierberg, who has litigated more than 40 hazing cases over two decades. CBS's 60 Minutes built its report around the firm's work.

Virginia Tech, and a Nation Watching

Watch the Press ConferenceSome firms defend both sides. We never will.
Everyone is entitled to representation, but not everyone is entitled to ours. We stand with people who have been hurt by others. We have never defended, and will never defend, the institutions that cause that harm.
Few firms can stand where we stand.
What it takes to try these cases, and why law firms across the country send theirs to us.
The forerunner of hazing litigation
We pioneered the nationwide approach to representing victims of school violence, pairing specialized expertise with a network of accomplished attorneys across the country. No firm in the country brings the breadth of experience we do to this work.
We pierce the veils built to hide assets
Our work has broken through the corporate structures national fraternities use to shield their assets from the survivors of hazing and assault, recovering meaningful accountability where others are turned away.
Other firms trust us with their cases
Attorneys across the country refer their school-violence and institutional cases to us, consult with our lawyers, or partner with us on complex matters, reaching outcomes that might not otherwise be possible.
We measure success beyond the verdict
Our attorneys have secured hundreds of millions for clients, but we also compel institutions to reform, establish precedent, and help families build foundations and laws that protect the students who come next.
However you arrived here, start here.
Whether you're a survivor, a grieving family, or an attorney weighing a referral, these are the doors into the firm. Reaching out costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
